A Portmeirion Birds Of Britain 7 inch bread and butter plate featuring the Nightingale or Luscinia Megarhyncos bird. This plate is ringed with a Green Band, retired many years ago. Green band plates are now difficult to find.

This plate is either a reproduction or Portmeirion found a stash of some old green band plates. The UPC sticker is dated to early 2008, however, green band items have not been made almost 20 years. The ID mark on the back is a smaller lime green 1794 Donovan backstamp with a faint X scratched through it. While it is officially a 2nd, I do not see any quality issue or factory flaw that would indicate the quality is less than the best.

The plate is in remarkable condition with no flaws, crazing, or signs of use and the green band is perfect!
