A Pomona egg cup featuring both the Wilmots Early Red and Queen Of Sheba gooseberry fruits. These fruit motifs have been retired for a number of years and are now difficult to find. It is nice that both fruits have the Gooseberry name printed in script.

Sometimes these flat egg cups are used as votive candle holders, however, not recommended because it could easily get crazing from the heat.

It is in excellent condition with no flaws that I can see. However, it has an oval mustard color 2nds ID mark on the bottom. This ID is used on 2nd quality items as well as samples and special decorations. Usually I can see a factory flaw on pieces with this ID, however, in this case I do not see any flaw at all. It may have been made after the Gooseberry fruits were retired.
